In the eastern Gulf Coast of Thailand, the city of Pattaya is well-known for its beaches. Before the 1960s rolled around, this area was a harbour; today, it is bordered with resort hotels, high-rise condos, shopping centres, cabaret bars, and 24-hour clubs. An 18-meter-tall golden Buddha may be found nearby at the hillside temple Wat Phra Yai. The region also advertises certain designer golf courses, some of which have Pattaya Bay vistas.
